There are commonly two types of intruder alarms: Hardwired and Wireless.

Hardwired Alarms:

Being more traditional, the whole alarm system is wired in an alarm rated wire. It is similar in size to a telephone wire and can be clipped around skirting boards or corners without looking an eyesore. All Passive Infrared Sensors (PIRs) are mounted on a wall or ceiling using a stylishly designed bracket. The main control box is located out of sight near your fuse box for the house’s electrics and the Remote Control Keypad (RKP) is located in a convenient place, allowing you to set and unset the system. The bell box is sighted at the front of your property and a dummy on the rear or the side.

Wireless Alarms:

Wireless Alarms have vastly improved over the past decade and are now becoming very popular. Long forgotten are the days of devices not working when the alarm has been armed, random error messages appearing on the control panel, or the external siren activating randomly.

The wireless alarm we install is part of the two-way wireless technology revolution. So what does this mean?

The wireless technology used holds a great advantage over one-way and even some two-way wireless products currently available on the market:

All wireless devices know when the system is armed and disarmed.

Armed: All movement detectors are permanently awake making the protection much more secure.

Disarmed: The detection component of the movement detectors is disabled, preserving battery power. However, the detectors still communicate with the control panel via low power supervision messages.

Our wireless intruder alarms are suitable for both residential and commercial premises. With so many wireless systems available in the current environment, why would you choose Rocktight Security.
